 On February 17th, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA),
with $59 billion allocated specifically towards healthcare. Incentives are offered to practices who implement a certified EMR/EHR system.
Why EMR/EHR?
Providers who adopt and are "meaningfully using" a certified EHR system by 2011 and 2012 will realize the highest incentive of $44,000.

On February 17th, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), with $59 billion allocated specifically towards healthcare. ARRA also makes comprehensive reforms in health law and policy, particularly in the area of health information law, including health information technology (HIT) adoption and health information privacy.
Incentives are offered to practices who implement a certified electronic health record (EHR) system. The earliest adopters that begin the transition to an EHR immediately and demonstrate 'meaningful' use of the EHR will realize the highest possible financial incentive, and physician practices that elect not to utilize an EHR system by 2015 may see Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement penalties. |
